Crawfish, Lucky Charms & Bunny Tails!

New beginnings:

We have arrived at the month that brings us spring and with that is the excitement of "new". New flowers, new weather, new gardens, new foods, the list is practically endless. I have already begun growing my "new" Lemon Thyme for making our Lemon Thyme & Rosemary salt.

For us, at Jazzy T Foods, our "new" this spring is a venture we have been wanting to get going again with our sno balls and being back in a building. We are very excited to be working on this project and hope to be up and running in just a few weeks.

Shenanigans and charms:

According to the legend, the leaves of a four-leaf clover represent hope, faith, love, and a fourth for good luck. A common belief during the Middle Ages was if someone carried a four-leaf clover, they would have the ability to see fairies.

Maybe you will come across your lucky clover while you are getting that garden ready to plant. If you do, be sure to keep it safe.

Crawfishing?

It was looking like the crawfish were thinking about backing out (crawfishing) on the season this year but turns out they were just sleeping in a bit. One of the great delights of spring that always brings excitement for those that know.

But it isn't just crawfish season - this month we have time springing forward on us (just when I was getting used to the current), St Patrick's day coming up and Easter on the 31st

Does the easter Bunny still visit?

The kids are grown and off doing their own things now. So what do I do for some Easter color? I still color eggs of course. I was so excited last year when I ran across a post on coloring the eggs after they are peeled. Tried it and it works like a charm. This is my new "go to" for coloring my eggs. This method gives you vibrant colorful eggs that are great to turn into those much loved deviled eggs and they will make your potato salad so much more colorful too. My preferred method is to get a plain traditional PAAS dye kit, make as per the box instructions, peel, rinse and dry your boiled eggs. Then dip them in the solution for as long as you want. DISCLAIMER: I do not recommend using the colored eggs without the peel for hiding.

Several years ago I discovered that if you have some that crack during the boiling process, you can actually crack the shell just a bit more and dip those in the dye and they will come out with a marbled affect which can be quite interesting too. Have fun with it and see what you come up with.

This month I would like to share with you a handy baking pan guide. It really does make a difference what type pan you use.

Hope you all have a fun St Patty's Day and a Happy Easter.
